PRT, or podcars as they are also called, are small electric vehicles running on their own rail and quickly transporting passengers from one place to another. A track is not yet finished, but the American company Unimodal Systems has technology ready. And they say they can build an installation at any time. Their transit system is called SkyTran. The lesson in the system of the private automobile is the rise of environmental problems and traffic congestion in many big cities.

Unimodal has plans to establish itself in Sweden, and seeing that, Tommy Olsson gladly sees a development with PRT in Karlskrona and is inviting the industry.

"Karlskrona is an excellent place for a test facility. The presence of Blekinge Institute of Technology with knowledge both in sustainable development and land use planning is a clear advantage," said Tommy Olsson in a press statement.
